Can perilla be hydroponically cultivated? Hydroponics methods and precautions

Can perilla be grown hydroponically?

Perilla can be grown hydroponically, and it can also be grown in soil. In comparison, perilla branches have a stronger rooting ability and are more likely to take root and sprout during the hydroponic process. Perilla hydroponics not only has a high ornamental value, but also has a relatively high survival rate.

Perilla hydroponic cultivation method

1. Choose a container: When growing perilla hydroponically, you need to prepare a clean container of moderate size. There are also certain requirements for the water to be injected. You need to inject an appropriate amount of clean water and let the water stand for a few days before using it.

2. Pruning branches: When growing perilla in water, the branches need to be pruned, and the excess branches and leaves at the base of the branches should be cut off. This can prevent the excess branches and leaves from absorbing nutrients and reduce the rate of virus invasion.

Precautions for growing perilla in water

1. Change water: During the hydroponic process of perilla, the water needs to be changed frequently. In the early stage of hydroponic culture, the water should be changed every 2 days or so to avoid long-term water pollution. After the perilla takes root, the water should be changed every 5 days or so to ensure the water quality.

2. Ventilation: During the hydroponic culture of perilla, a warm and ventilated environment needs to be maintained, which can promote the rapid growth and development of the roots of perilla.
