Why are the leaves of hydrangea turning yellow?

Why are the leaves of hydrangea turning yellow?

1. Improper watering

Reason: Watering is a very important factor in the growth of hydrangea. If it is not watered for a long time, the soil in the pot will become too dry, and the plant will absorb improper water, causing it to become dehydrated, causing the leaves to turn yellow. If you water too much, it will affect the roots, causing root rot and causing the leaves to turn yellow and dry.

Solution: Hydrangeas need to be watered normally during their growth, and water them when the soil is dry and when the soil is wet. If they are given too much water, the rotten roots need to be cut off, and the plants need to be disinfected and replanted.

2. Improper fertilization

Reason: If no fertilizer is applied for a long time, the plant's growth will be weak, causing nutritional deficiencies and leading to yellowing of leaves. If too much fertilizer is applied, the roots will not be able to absorb it all, which will cause fertilizer to accumulate at the roots, causing root rot, and the leaves will naturally turn yellow.

Solution: Judge the growth trend and apply appropriate fertilizer to maintain normal growth needs. If you apply too much fertilizer, you need to increase the amount of watering or simply replace the soil.

3. Wrong lighting

Reason: If it is kept in a place with little light for a long time, the lack of photosynthesis will cause the leaves to turn yellow. If you do not pay attention to shade in summer and expose the plant to strong sunlight, the leaves will turn yellow.

Solution: Usually keep it in a place with diffuse light and get enough sunlight. Do not keep it in a place with direct sunlight in summer.

4. Unsuitable soil

Reason: Hydrangea likes acidic soil. If the soil is alkaline, it will cause yellow leaves. If the soil is sticky and compacted, it will also cause yellow leaves.

Solution: Replace the soil with one suitable for growth, preferably one that is acidic and keeps it loose and fertile.
