What are the cultivation methods and precautions of cactus

Growth habits of cactus

Cactus likes light, but it needs to be kept in a semi-shaded environment in summer. 25-30℃ is the ideal temperature for growth and flowering. It is relatively drought-resistant, sun-resistant and high-temperature resistant, but it will be frostbitten below 0 degrees and is afraid of damp and cold environments. At the same time, cactus likes loose, fertile and humus-rich soil.

How to cultivate cactus

Soil: When planting cactus, you should use soil that is breathable and relatively loose. Do not use soil that is too sticky, otherwise it will affect the growth of the cactus.

Light: Cactus requires a lot of light, and it is best to keep it in full sunlight. You can plant it on the roof or balcony.

Temperature: If the ambient temperature is lower than 5 degrees, the cactus will grow poorly, causing the plant to wither and die. It is necessary to take warming measures for the cactus, or move the cactus to a room with a temperature of about 25 degrees for maintenance.

Watering: Wait until the soil is dry before watering. Water thoroughly each time. If it is winter, water less frequently or even not at all.

Precautions for Cactus Cultivation

When caring for cactus, after its flowering period is over, use sharp scissors to cut off the dense branches of the plant that have bloomed to avoid the loss of excess nutrients and allow the cactus to sprout new branches. Also, apply wood ash to the broken ends of the cactus branches to disinfect and sterilize them so that the cactus can grow healthily.
