How to trim palace grass to look good

When is the right time to trim palace grass?

There is no specific time for pruning royal palace grass. Royal palace grass should be pruned as it grows. Do not wait until it grows too tall to start pruning, otherwise the old stems below will easily block the light and lose leaves. After pruning, the grass will be bald and ugly. Generally speaking, when it is 5CM~7CM long, trim it by 2CM~3CM. This will keep it in the state of aquatic plants and allow them to quickly form a density.

Tips for pruning royal grass

For the palace, generally at least 5CM~7CM is retained, about 10~15 pairs of leaves. Three pairs of leaves are cut off at the lower end to facilitate rooting. The insertion depth should be such that the third pair of leaf nodes just emerge from the sand surface.

If the internodes are short, the insertion depth can be adjusted freely as needed, and ensure that there are no leaves on the internodes below the sand surface.

Things to note when pruning royal grass

Insufficient density: If there is a large space to be invaded nearby, the palaces nearby will choose to bend down and occupy the territory first, and they will need to hit their heads many times before the area becomes dense.

The light is too strong: it bends the plant and needs to be hit several times until it becomes dense.

Indoor light intensity during the day: The lights are turned on at night, and the palace will bend towards the bright place in the room during the day, and straighten up after the lights are turned on at night. Late the next day, this kind of palace will look crooked. At this time, it is necessary to block the light during the day, or turn on the lights during the day.
