How to make seaweed germinate quickly

Seaweed germination environment

It is relatively rare to use the sowing method for seaweed, but it is also possible for it to germinate. The first thing is to control the temperature. Generally, the temperature for seaweed growth is not very high, usually between 4-20°C. Therefore, if you want it to germinate, the environmental temperature must be lowered appropriately.

There is also the issue of light. Light is crucial to the growth of algae. Each type of algae has different requirements for light. Seaweed generally lives on the surface of the water, which allows it to absorb more light and grow and germinate better.

Seaweed germination process

Because it is pure seaweed, mainly plants that grow in clean seas, without any biochemical ingredients added, just like our mung beans, it will sprout when placed in water.

In addition, seaweed seeds can be directly planted and germinated. Generally, seaweed lives in the sea and does not need to be planted in the soil.

Seaweed seed germination method

First, select mature and high-quality seaweed seeds, wash them in clean water for about 1 to 2 times, rub off the impurities on them with your hands, soak them in warm water for 1 to 2 days, take them out, treat them once with potassium permanganate solution, and place them in a ventilated place to dry.

Seaweed germination cultivation

When planting seaweed seeds, first soak the seeds in warm water for 1 to 2 days, then thoroughly disinfect them, dry them and place them in a flowerpot filled with sand, pour in an appropriate amount of water, just enough to cover the base of the seeds, place them in a shaded environment, control the temperature at around 22°C, and transplant them after true leaves grow.
