How to grow kidney fern

How to grow kidney fern

1. Suitable soil

To cultivate kidney fern, suitable soil for growth is required. It is suitable for growing in loose, air-permeable and well-drained soil, either neutral soil or slightly acidic soil. The soil used can be prepared with leaf mold, vermiculite and plain sand, and it must be disinfected and sterilized before preparation. The kidney fern grows very fast and can be repotted once a year to provide growing space and new soil.

2. Timely water supply

Although the kidney fern can tolerate drought, it grows better in a humid environment. During the growing season, it is necessary to ensure sufficient water and follow the principle of watering when the soil is dry. Water it after the soil is dry. You can water it every three or four days. Be careful not to over-water and provide shade when heavy rain occurs.

3. Supplement fertilizer

The growth rate of kidney fern is very fast, so it is necessary to add fertilizer in time. Fertilize once every half a month and choose liquid fertilizer. Although timely fertilizer application is necessary to ensure nutrition, the concentration should not be too high each time.

4. Bright astigmatism

Its growth cannot be separated from sunlight. You can provide sufficient bright scattered light. It can be kept in a well-lit place indoors, or on a north-facing balcony. Be sure to avoid strong light in summer.
