Where is honeysuckle suitable for planting

Honeysuckle planting area

Honeysuckle generally grows in bushes on hillsides or in mountainous areas. There are often small amounts distributed on both sides of mountain roads. It is suitable for growing in a slightly humid environment.

Honeysuckle is suitable for planting in the northern region with balanced temperature and moderate rainfall all year round. Honeysuckle can also be planted in the south, but because the rain and heat conditions do not match its optimal growth environment, its growth is often unsatisfactory. The honeysuckle grown in northern my country has the highest quality, among which Fengqiu in Henan, Pingyi in Shandong and Julu in Hebei are the most famous production areas.

Honeysuckle planting conditions

Honeysuckle is suitable for growing in places with not much rainfall, but the climate must also be kept moist. It is difficult to grow normally in extremely arid areas. Its growth temperature is best maintained at an annual average of around 15 degrees Celsius. The light cannot be intense. The regional lighting conditions are soft and the average daily light time is long, which is very suitable for it.

Key points for planting and managing honeysuckle

1. Water content:

Honeysuckle is relatively drought-resistant and does not require much water. Its root system is shallow and it is not tolerant to waterlogging. When planted in the rainy season in the south, the soil needs to be treated in advance to drain water.

2. Lighting:

Honeysuckle is suitable for growing in soft and long-lasting light. If the light is too strong in the summer, you can appropriately cover the top of the plant with a shade net to provide shade.

3. Soil:

Honeysuckle grows best in soft, breathable soil. If you add some gravel and humus to the soil before planting, it will grow more vigorously and healthily.
