When is the best time to sow aster seeds?

Aster seeds sowing time

There is no fixed sowing time for aster. If the ambient temperature is suitable, it can be done in spring, summer and autumn. However, it is more recommended to sow in spring when the climate is suitable. The seeds will germinate soon after sowing and the seedlings will grow quickly as well, usually blooming in two or three months.

Method and steps of planting aster seeds

1. Seed selection and germination

If you want to plant in a pot, it is recommended to choose a dwarf variety. There are not too many requirements for planting in the ground. Choose fuller aster seeds, wash them first, then put them on a wet cloth, move them to a dark place, control the temperature appropriately, and ensure that the temperature is between 14-16 degrees. It will germinate in about four or five days.

2. Prepare the matrix

Aster is a shallow-rooted plant and is suitable for planting in loose, fertile, well-drained soil. It can be mixed with leaf mold, river sand and garden soil. It is best to add an appropriate amount of organic fertilizer solution to improve the fertility of the soil. The soil prepared in this way can better meet the growth needs and is conducive to germination and growth.

3. Planting in the soil

The planting method is very simple. Place the germinated seeds in the soil, pay attention to controlling the row spacing between 8-9 cm, and the burial depth should be about one-third of the seedlings. When the plants grow to 5-10 cm, transplant and plant them. Control the plant spacing between 20-30 cm. Water frequently after planting to ensure that the soil is moist and not lacking water.
