Water spinach sowing timeWater spinach is a plant of the genus Ipomoea. It is called water spinach in Guizhou, Sichuan, Fujian, and Guangxi, called vine vegetable in Jiangsu and Sichuan, and called Tongcai in Guangdong. It is sown once a year. It likes a hot, humid, sunny environment. The germination temperature of the seeds is above 15 degrees, so it will be planted in April-July. The northern region is cold, so it is generally planted in June-August. Water spinach sowing method1. The seeds of water spinach are hard. If they are sown directly, it is difficult for them to germinate, and the planting cycle will be longer. Long-term rainy weather will also cause the seeds to rot. Therefore, before sowing, they need to be soaked in 50-60 degree warm water for 15-30 minutes, stirring all the time, then soaked in clean water for a day, and placed in a greenhouse for germination. 2. When the seeds begin to turn white over a large area, they can be planted. The soil needs to be renovated in advance. It has a large demand for fertilizer, so it is advisable to apply enough base fertilizer and mix the fertilizer with the soil. The seeds can be broadcast or sown in rows, sowing about 2 kilograms per mu. After sowing, a layer of soil should be covered on it, and it needs to be watered thoroughly once to maintain humidity. Water spinach ripe harvestGenerally speaking, water spinach grows very fast and can be harvested every 20 days or so. If it is planted in holes, about 2,200 kilograms can be harvested per mu each time. If it is sown in rows, about 2,700 kilograms can be harvested per mu each time. In areas with fertile soil and with careful maintenance, the yield of water spinach per mu can be as high as about 15,000-16,000 kilograms. |
