When to plant water spinach in spring

In summer, you can plant water spinach in April and May. During the maintenance period, a good ventilation environment is needed to avoid the occurrence of diseases and pests due to the hot and stuffy environment.

When to plant water spinach in autumn

The temperature is relatively low in autumn, so it should be planted around September. It is not very cold-resistant, so you must pay attention to insulation measures, otherwise it will stop growing and developing.

When to plant water spinach in winter

In winter, water spinach can be planted in a greenhouse from November to December, and the temperature must be kept above 10 degrees, otherwise it will be frostbitten.

Water spinach planting methods and steps

The sowing period of water spinach should be determined according to local climatic conditions and the characteristics of the variety. It can be sown if the daily average temperature is stable above 15 degrees.

1. Before planting, soak the water spinach seeds in 30-40 degree warm water for 30 minutes, and then soak them in clean water for 24 hours.

2. Take out the soaked water spinach seeds, wash them clean and place them at a temperature of about 25 degrees to start germination. When the seeds turn white, they can be sown.

3. Draw a shallow trench 2 to 3 cm deep horizontally with a distance of 15 cm between them. Then spread the water spinach seeds evenly in the trench, cover them with fine soil, and finally cover them with plastic film. Seedlings will emerge after a week.
