Iris is a perennial plant. Iris seeds will generally germinate within 10 days of sowing. The growth cycle of iris is about 11 months. It is most appropriate to plant iris seeds in August and September in autumn, as this period is more in line with the growth habits of iris.

How to grow iris seeds

1. Seed selection: Select healthy and plump iris seeds, and then soak them in clean water for a day, so that the germination rate of the seeds will be higher.

2. Soil preparation: Choose loose, fertile soil as the planting medium, and then use a shallow pot with good ventilation for planting.

3. Sowing: Plant the germinated iris seeds at intervals of 1 to 2 cm, then cover them with a layer of fine soil and water the potting soil thoroughly.
