When to plant money clematis

Money thread vine is generally planted in spring and autumn, mainly concentrated in March to May in spring or September to October in autumn. This is also the time when money thread vine grows vigorously, and it will sprout and take root soon after planting.

How to plant money clematis

Clematis is suitable for planting in fertile, well-drained alkaline loam. It is not drought-tolerant or waterlogged. During its growth period, the soil needs to be kept slightly moist without waterlogging. It is not tolerant to direct sunlight. In addition to the need for shade in summer, it should be exposed to the sun more often at other times. The plant is cold-resistant and can withstand temperatures as low as -20 degrees Celsius. During its peak growth period, a thin layer of fertilizer should be applied every 15 days. Generally, the key points of Clematis planting are as follows:

1. Prepare the soil: Clematis is generally maintained in potted plants. It likes to grow in loose, breathable, well-drained sandy soil. When planting, you can mix leaf mold, river sand and perlite to prepare the soil.

2. Reasonable watering: When planting money clematis, you can water the plants according to seasonal changes. When planting in spring and autumn, you need to water the plants 2 to 3 times a week. In summer, the temperature is high and the air is very dry. You can water them every day and spray them appropriately. In winter, the temperature is low and the air humidity is high. You don’t need to water the plants too much, just keep the soil moist.

3. Adequate light: The demand for light is relatively high. When planting, it can be placed in a sunny and ventilated place to allow the plant to receive full sunlight. In summer, it cannot tolerate direct sunlight and needs to be moved to a semi-shaded environment with appropriate shading. Artificial lighting can be used in rainy weather.

4. Fertilize in time: Money thread vine is a plant that likes fertilizer. When planting, apply nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers to the plant once a month. It is best to fertilize the plant once every half a month during the growth period. During this period, you can also apply foliar fertilizer to the plant appropriately. Before each fertilization, it is best to dilute the fertilizer with an appropriate amount of water. This can reduce the occurrence of fertilizer damage from the root.

Precautions for the maintenance of Qianxilian

Money thread vine likes a shady, moist and cool environment. It is suitable for planting in loose, fertile soil. Acidic soil cannot be used. Note that the plant is not resistant to high temperatures and strong light. It needs to be sprayed with water more in summer and shade measures should be taken. Although it is cold-resistant in winter, warming measures should still be taken in northern regions.
