How to cultivate monkey tail column and how to take cuttings

1. Breeding methods

1. Soil: It likes soil with good drainage and air permeability. When cultivating, you can mix it with sand and leaf mold. The soil prepared in this way can meet the growth needs. Be careful not to make it too sticky, which will hinder the breathing of the roots.

2. Light: It likes light very much and will only bloom in an environment with sufficient light. If it is placed in a cool place for a long time, it will easily grow too tall and lose its beauty. Therefore, be sure to place it in a well-lit place and let it get more sun.

3. Temperature: It is suitable for growing in an environment with a temperature between 20-30 degrees and is not cold-resistant. When the temperature drops in winter, it should be moved to a warm place indoors. The temperature should be above 12 degrees to avoid frostbite.

4. Watering: It contains a lot of water in its body and is drought-resistant. Therefore, there is no need to water frequently during maintenance. Just water when the plant is dry. Otherwise, water will easily accumulate and cause root rot. In addition, be careful not to water the stems when watering, just water directly into the soil.

2. How to take cuttings

Its cuttings are made using stem segments. Cut off the vigorous stem segments from the mother plant, place them in a cool place to dry the wounds, and then use cuttings after they heal. The soil should be loose and breathable, and be sure to disinfect it first. After preparation, dig a hole in the middle of the potting soil and put the stem segment in without covering it with soil. It will take root in two or three weeks and you can transplant it after the root system is stable.
