Fig's growing environment and growing conditions

Fig Growing Environment and Conditions

Figs are suitable for planting in a warm and humid environment. They are relatively resistant to barrenness and drought, but not to waterlogging. Therefore, they need to be watered appropriately during maintenance to avoid waterlogging. Figs are native to the Mediterranean coast and are widely planted in the north and south of my country.

Fig Growing Conditions

Figs generally grow in warm areas and require sufficient sunlight. They are best grown in deep, loose and fertile sandy loam or clay loam, which is more conducive to their growth.

Fig growing temperature

Figs prefer a warm climate environment. When growing, the temperature needs to be kept above 13 degrees. In winter, the lowest temperature they can withstand is around minus 18 degrees.

The growth process of figs

Figs have four main growth periods. They are planted in autumn. When they grow into seedlings, it is their growing period. They will bear fruit about three years after planting, which is their fruiting period. They will enter the peak fruit-bearing period after about 6-7 years of growth, and then they will die after growing to a hundred years old.

Fig planting time and method

Figs are usually planted in spring IDE3-4. Loose and fertile soil is required. The temperature should be kept at around 20-30 degrees. They can be planted indoors. Watering should be done appropriately to avoid water accumulation. There should also be a good ventilation environment to facilitate growth.
