The flower language and legend of the green cloud grass

The flower language of the green cloud grass: happiness

There are many flower lovers who have grown green cloud grass, but few have seen it bloom. Why is this? Because the flowers of the green cloud grass are white and extremely small, it is difficult to distinguish them unless you look carefully. Moreover, if you are a flower lover who raises orchids to protect them, it is better not to let the green cloud grass bloom to avoid occupying nutrients or even causing some harm to the orchids.

However, it is precisely because it is rare that it is precious. Because it is precious, one feels happy when he sees it. This is probably how the flower language of Emerald Green Grass came about.

The legend of the green cloud grass

It is recorded in the "Records of the Grand Historian: The Book of Fengshan" that the Dragon Emperor, also known as the Emperor of Heaven, also called the Jade Emperor, is said to be the incarnation of the Yellow Emperor, the ancestor of the Chinese nation. When Huangdi ascended to heaven and became the Jade Emperor, a dragon with drooping beard welcomed Huangdi to heaven. Huangdi rode on the dragon's back, and his ministers, wife and children also climbed up one after another, a total of more than seventy people. At this time, the dragon rose into the sky, and the remaining subjects grabbed the dragon's beard, which broke under the weight.

(According to the "Historical Records·Book of Fengshan", "Huangdi mined copper from Shoushan and cast a tripod at the foot of Jingshan. When the tripod was completed, a dragon with its beard hanging down came to greet Huangdi. Huangdi rode on it, and more than seventy ministers and concubines followed him. The dragon then ascended. The other minor ministers could not get on, so they all grabbed the dragon's beard. The dragon's beard was pulled out and fell, and Huangdi's bow fell off. The people looked up and saw Huangdi ascend to heaven, so they hugged his bow and beard and cried. Therefore, later generations named the place Dinghu and the bow Wuhao.")

At this point, the broken half of the dragon's whisker remained among the people. There is a folk legend that dragon whisker-shaped ornaments are spiritual and can protect the family's safety and health, and academic and career success.

Li Bai, a poet in the Tang Dynasty, once wrote a poem, "Watching Cattail Cutting at the East Gate of Lu". There are two lines in the poem, "This grass is the most precious, why should we value dragon's beard so much?", which is about Cuiyun grass and is also related to its legend.
