The planting time of okra is generally not seasonal. It can be sown in spring, summer and autumn. It can be sown in spring from March to April and in summer from May to July.

There are many varieties of okra, the more common ones are Wujiao, Qingfu, Wufu, Kariba okra, etc., but there is not much difference in the planting time of different varieties of okra.

Okra harvest season

Okra is generally harvested in autumn, but okra planted at different times also has different harvest times. For example, okra sown in spring can be harvested from May to September, and okra sown in summer can be harvested from September to November. The yield per mu is 2,000-3,000 kilograms.

Okra planting steps and methods

1. Choose the soil

Okra does not have high requirements for soil, but it is best to choose loose, fertile, and water-retaining soil, and add a certain amount of organic fertilizer to the soil as base fertilizer.

2. Seed treatment

The seed coat of okra is relatively hard. Before planting, you can soak the seeds in warm water for about 10 hours and wait for the seed coat to soften.

3. Start planting

Directly place the okra seeds in the treated soil, cover the seeds with fine soil, water them appropriately, control the ambient temperature at 20-25℃, and wait for the seeds to germinate.
