Hawaiian bamboo soil changing time and method

Hawaiian bamboo soil changing time and method

Hawaiian Bamboo Soil Change Time

Hawaiian bamboo needs to have its soil changed during maintenance, because if the soil is not changed for a long time, it will cause bacteria to breed, thus causing diseases and insect pests. For it, the most suitable time to change the soil is from March to May each year. After changing the soil, it can have sufficient nutrients for growth.

Hawaiian bamboo repotting and soil changing method

1. Remove the plant: Before dividing Hawaiian bamboo, you need to take the plant out of the pot and remove the old soil attached to it. Be careful not to damage the healthy roots when taking out the plant.

2. Division: After taking out the Hawaiian bamboo, you can divide it. Prepare a sharp knife and separate the plants from the bottom. The division should be even. It is more appropriate to divide it into 2-3 plants. After division, trim each plant and remove the dead branches and rotten leaves on the plant.

3. Prepare potting soil: Prepare suitable potting soil according to the divided plants. The flowerpot should be kept transparent and have holes at the bottom for normal drainage. The soil should be loose and breathable. You can use leaf mold, garden soil, sandy soil, and base fertilizer for a simple preparation. Pay attention to disinfection after preparation.

4. Planting in a pot: Place broken tiles at the bottom of the pot, fill it with soil, then straighten the Hawaiian bamboo and plant it in, water it thoroughly and place it in a cool place.

Hawaiian bamboo soil replacement precautions

1. When changing the soil of Hawaiian bamboo, you need to pay attention to control the water before potting, so that the soil in the pot is half dry before changing the pot. Moreover, the soil cannot be changed completely, and half of the soil needs to be retained. When changing the soil, the old roots and necrotic roots need to be cut off. Fertilizing and watering should be done in moderation.

2. For Hawaiian bamboo, the most suitable soil is loose, breathable and well-drained soil, which allows it to grow well.

3. Hawaiian bamboo needs to be fertilized when changing the soil. It should be mainly composed of decomposed cake fertilizer, livestock and poultry manure, bone meal and other organic fertilizers to meet the growth needs.

Hawaiian bamboo maintenance method after soil change

1. Hawaiian bamboo prefers to grow in warm places. Generally, the most suitable temperature is 20 degrees. If the temperature is lower than 10 degrees, it will affect its growth. It usually needs sufficient sunlight and a good ventilation environment, and in summer it needs to avoid strong light exposure.

2. The correct approach to Hawaiian bamboo during its growth period is to water it once or twice a week, keeping the water supply to the soil suitable for plant growth, that is, without causing water accumulation.

3. The leaves of Hawaiian bamboo turn yellow after changing the soil because the root system is damaged. It is recommended to trim off the yellow leaves and more than half of the branches and leaves, preferably leaving only one-third.

4. Hawaiian bamboo likes shade and is afraid of sunlight. The maximum temperature should not exceed 28 degrees. It should be placed in a shaded place outdoors or cultivated indoors. It should not be placed indoors right after planting. It should be placed in a suitable shaded place outdoors to slow down the growth of seedlings. Remember not to expose it to the sun.
