How to raise Lithops seedlings

How to raise Lithops seedlings

1. Pay attention to soil selection for sowing

After Lithops seeds germinate and grow into seedlings, they may be troubled by various factors such as mold and insects, so you need to pay more attention when choosing soil for sowing. The best substrate is peat soil, mixed with some planting materials with larger particles. Newly prepared flower soil needs to be disinfected, because the soil may contain a lot of germs, insect eggs, etc., which can only be removed after disinfection.

2. Provide the right amount of light

Seedlings are relatively weak, so proper lighting is necessary. But too much sunlight will cause it to grow too tall. Generally speaking, two hours a day is enough. And the light should not be too strong. It is more appropriate to provide light in the morning or after four o'clock in the afternoon. However, sometimes due to weather reasons, the lighting may be unstable, so at this time you can use tools such as fill lights to supplement the lighting.

3. Provide the right amount of water

Too much water can also cause leggy growth. Therefore, the amount of watering should not be too much, just adjust it according to the state of the substrate.

4. Provide the right amount of fertilizer

Sometimes, seedlings only grow taller but not fatter. At this time, they need an appropriate amount of fertilizer to help them grow. Generally speaking, it is better to use potassium fertilizer.
