How to care for Lithops after germination

How to care for Lithops after germination

1. How to maintain

1. Light: It is best to place it in a cool place just after sowing. After germination, you can give it light. However, this is a gradual process and strong light cannot be given at the beginning. The newly sprouted seedlings are still relatively weak. They can be exposed to light in the morning and behind glass. However, do not cover them with a quilt, as this will cause damage due to the heat.

2. Ventilation: Necessary ventilation is needed at this time. However, because the seedlings are very weak, there cannot be too strong a wind, otherwise the seedlings will easily be blown down.

3. Watering: Within one month of germination, it is best to use the "immersion method" to replenish water. Because normal watering methods can easily knock down the seedlings. However, as it grows bigger, you don't need to use this method anymore. You can just water it with a watering can. The watering interval can be adjusted according to the conditions of the substrate, and water should be added in time after the substrate dries out.

4. What to do if the seedlings fall over: Seedlings are relatively easy to fall over. When this happens, you can use tools to prop them up and sprinkle fine sand to fix them.

2. How to transplant seedlings

After germination, you can transplant it. Be careful when using soil. It can be prepared with peat soil, perlite, red clay, and fine sand, and it needs to be disinfected before use. Prepare a small pair of tongs, dig out the seedlings, and move them to a new pot.
