The fastest rooting method for Schefflera hydroponica

The fastest rooting method for Schefflera hydroponica

1. Hydroponic time

In order to increase the rooting speed of Schefflera hydroponica, the temperature in the surrounding environment must be suitable. It is best to carry out hydroponics in spring when the temperature can be stabilized at around 20 degrees Celsius, which is more conducive to rooting and can increase the rooting survival rate.

2. Container water quality

Before hydroponics, you need to prepare the container and water. The container does not need to be too large. It is recommended to choose a transparent bottle made of glass. The water quality requirements are not high. You can directly take tap water, dry it in the sun for a few days to evaporate the chlorine in it, put it in a container, and add a few drops of rooting liquid into it.

3. Cut branches

Choose plants that are healthy, free of pests and diseases, and growing well. Cut off the hard branches from the top, and cut the bottom of the branches into an inclined surface, which can increase the area for water absorption. Cutting off the leaves at the bottom of the branches can reduce water evaporation and prevent them from being soaked in water and rotting.

4. Hydroponic cuttings

Put the branches into the water, not too deep, about 3-5 cm deep is enough. Wrap it with something black to block the sunlight.

5. Post-management

After cuttings, change the water after about 1-2 days, add rooting liquid when changing the water, keep it under bright diffuse light, maintain good maintenance and management, and it will take about 7-15 days to take root. After the roots grow a little longer and the growth is stable, you can transplant it into the potting soil.
