How to grow lavender in pots

1. Water appropriately

It hates water stains left at the roots. When watering, wait until the soil is dry before continuing to water. The specific watering should be determined according to the soil moisture conditions. Every time you water, you should try to choose the morning, so that you can effectively avoid the sunlight. At the same time, you should not sprinkle water on the leaves, otherwise it will easily cause diseases. In addition, do not water too much, otherwise the roots will easily rot or even cause the plant to die.

2. Adequate lighting

It also likes sunshine. This will allow it to grow better. If it can be given a full-sun environment, it will be more conducive to its growth. If it is given half-sun, although it can still grow normally, the number of flowers will be greatly reduced. In summer, the light is strong, so you cannot expose it to the sun directly. You should reduce the light by half and ventilate it frequently.

3. Suitable temperature

It likes a cool environment. The most suitable temperature for its growth is 15 to 25 degrees, and it can also grow at 5 to 30 degrees. But the temperature cannot exceed 35 degrees, otherwise the top stems and leaves of the plant will begin to turn yellow. In northern regions, the temperature cannot be too low. If it stays below 0 degrees for a long time, it will gradually enter a dormant state.

4. Proper pruning

Its flowers have a very high essential oil content, so the flowers or inflorescences are often chosen for harvesting. When it is first cultivated, its inflorescences can be flattened so that the newly grown inflorescences will be at the same height as the old inflorescences, making it easier to harvest. The best time to prune is spring.
