How to care for potted peony flowers at home

How to care for potted peony flowers at home

1. Soil

When growing peonies in potted plants at home, you must use soil that is relatively loose and has good drainage. Because many people cannot control the amount of watering when caring for the plants at home, once they water too much, there will be excess water. If the soil has poor drainage, water will accumulate in the potting soil and the roots of the plants will easily rot.

2. Lighting

Peonies love sunlight, but cannot be exposed to the scorching sun. It can be kept in a sunny place in spring and autumn, shaded in summer, and needs sufficient light in winter.

3. Temperature

Peonies are very afraid of cold, so it is best to give them a growing environment of 16-20℃. If the temperature is lower than 16℃, it will be difficult for them to bloom. When the temperature is too high in summer, it will enter a semi-dormant state. Try to keep the temperature at 5-8℃ in winter. Only in this way can it survive the winter safely.

4. Water

Do not water potted peonies too much, and wait until the soil is completely dry before watering. In spring, always keep the soil moist. In summer, water evaporates faster, so you need to replenish water in time and spray the plants with water. When watering, be sure to water it thoroughly. It will dormant in winter, so water it less.

5. Disease prevention and control

For potted peonies, you must control the amount of water and temperature to prevent leaf spot and gray mold. When the disease occurs, the diseased branches should be cut off in time and sprayed with appropriate pesticides.
