The difference between lotus bamboo and lucky bamboo

The difference between the two

Physical characteristics

Lucky bamboo is an ornamental plant belonging to the small tree category. It can usually grow to a height of 2 meters. Its branches appear to be relatively slender. It has many branches, and the main trunk is relatively thick and straight, which makes it look very beautiful. The leaves, like those of bamboo, generally grow in relative relation. They are relatively pointed and dark green in color. The length of the leaves can generally reach more than 20 centimeters, and the petioles are relatively short, generally 10 centimeters. Lucky bamboo can bloom and bear fruit in purple and black colors.

The leaves of Lotus Bamboo are lighter in color than those of Lucky Bamboo. Its stems are round like bamboo and its leaves are like lotus. Lotus bamboo can survive in a dark and humid environment. It has strong vitality and can grow healthily and vigorously as long as it is watered properly.

Growth habit

Lucky bamboo is more suitable for a warm growing environment. It can grow normally when the temperature reaches around 20 degrees. It is an evergreen plant all year round. Too low temperature can easily lead to the roots being unable to absorb water well, causing the leaves to turn yellow or develop spots, so normal light and temperature must be ensured.

The suitable temperature for the growth of lotus bamboo is between 26 and 29 degrees. In winter, the minimum temperature at night must be above 10 degrees. Lotus bamboo prefers a humid environment. It can be placed in a place with scattered sunlight to grow. Keeping the soil breathable and drainable will allow it to grow better and faster.
