How to grow ivy strong

How to grow ivy strong

1. Suitable soil

If you want the plants to grow strong, you must first choose the right soil. In addition to paying attention to nutrition, you should also pay attention to looseness, air permeability and drainage. Specifically, you can mix garden soil, leaf mold and sand as planting soil. You can add basal fertilizer into it. Repotting should be done regularly, about once every one to two years. If the plant does not grow well, it can be changed once a year.

2. Sufficient water

In addition to providing sufficient water during the growing period, you should also spray some water on the ground and leaves in the summer to increase humidity.

3. Pinching and pruning

After budding in spring, pinching should be carried out. This can promote branch germination and make the plant grow stronger. Also pay attention to pruning. Regularly cut off the dead, diseased, insect-infested, and weak branches, so that the remaining strong branches will grow better.

4. Appropriate amount of fertilizer

If the plant does not grow strong, it may be that there are not enough nutrients in the soil. In addition to repotting, you can also apply some fertilizer. Fertilize mainly during the growing period, about once every two weeks.

5. Suitable temperature

Twenty-five degrees is the most suitable temperature, and it is easy for the plants to grow strong around this temperature.

6. Placement

The main considerations are ventilation and light. The plant needs to be placed in a place with good light and ventilation.

7. Prevent and control pests and diseases

Pests and diseases have a great impact on plants. Therefore, prevention should be carried out before discovery, and timely measures should be taken to prevent and control it after discovery.
