How to grow lilac

How to grow lilac

1. Breeding environment

1. Soil: Lilac does not have too high requirements for soil. Fertile, loose and well-drained soil is more conducive to its growth.

2. Watering: Before watering, check whether the soil is dry. If the soil is dry, water it appropriately. Don't worry too much about watering at other times. In addition, during the rainy season, attention should be paid to drainage. If water accumulates, its growth will be affected and the roots will rot.

3. Fertilization: The amount of fertilizer should be appropriate, as long as it can maintain its normal growth. Generally, mature compost is applied once a year. Do not apply too much fertilizer, which may cause the branches to grow too long and affect flowering.

4. Light: It prefers sunlight, so it is best to ensure sufficient sunlight when breeding.

2. Breeding Methods

1. Seed propagation: It is best to sow in spring. Soak the seeds in water for 1-2 days before sowing, then mix them with sand to germinate. Keep the soil moist. Sow after a week, then cover with soil. They will germinate in about a month.

2. Propagation by cuttings: Choose pest-free and relatively sturdy branches, insert them into suitable soil, and then control the temperature at 25°C. They will take root in about a month, and can be transplanted when the roots turn yellow-brown.

3. Common diseases

1. Spot disease: There will be spots of varying degrees on the leaves. In severe cases, the entire plant will die. Make sure there is no water accumulation in the potting soil. Strengthen drainage when growing outdoors. After the disease occurs, dilute and spray with Bordeaux liquid.

2. Black spot disease: Irregular dark brown spots will appear on the leaves, as well as black mold, and the leaves will slowly fall off. Clean up the diseased leaves in time to avoid increasing the source of infection, and spray the pesticides accordingly.
