How to make Christmas cactus bloom again

1. Cut off the remaining flowers

This is a necessary step. If they don't, they will continue to consume a lot of nutrients, which will be wasted. Then, it will be very unfavorable for the subsequent re-flowering. In addition, in addition to the withered flowers, the withered stem nodes can also be cut off together.

2. Repotting

After flowering, the plant goes into a dormant state. During this stage, you can turn the pot over, which can reduce harmful substances in the original soil and add nutrients to it, thus facilitating its re-flowering. The specific steps are: replace about one-third to one-half of the soil at the bottom and cut off the dry roots. Then, prepare loose, fertile new soil and replant the plants into it.

3. Fertilization

When repotting, you can add some base fertilizer, such as fish bone meal, or some homemade liquid fertilizer. Do not fertilize during dormancy. Once new stems have grown out, you can carry out normal management. You also need to apply some compound fertilizer or homemade organic fertilizer, about once every half a month.

4. Sunshine

In order to promote the differentiation of flower buds, sunlight is definitely indispensable. After a period of dormancy after flowering, eight to ten hours of sunlight are needed each day. At other times, it is best to keep it in a dark place, especially at night. If other conditions are suitable, new flower buds will appear in about twenty days.

5. Temperature and moisture

Paying attention to these two factors can provide a good external environment for the plant's re-flowering. The first is the temperature. It is best to keep it in a suitable state, specifically between 22 and 25 degrees. As for moisture, to be on the safe side, you can check whether it is dry or wet.
