Sunflowers grow like this, they grow fast

Sunflowers are very easy to grow. They are not delicate at all. They can grow well even in saline-alkali land and produce plump sunflower seeds. Hurry up and plant a few sunflowers at home!

1. Prepare sunflower seeds

Buy some sunflowers suitable for potted plants. Common varieties include Miss Sunshine, Folk Song, Little Bear, etc. They are relatively short, and the grown plants are generally 15 to 30 cm.

2. Planting seeds in the soil

Insert the pointed end of the sunflower seeds vertically into the soil. Plant as many seeds as possible in a pot to prevent a low germination rate. Cover with 2 cm thick soil, water thoroughly to keep the soil moist, and place it in a place with high temperature and plenty of sunlight.

3. Germination after 3-7 days

When the temperature is above 15 degrees, small sprouts will generally emerge from the sunflower seeds in 3-7 days. Place them in a sunny place and water them every morning and evening to keep the soil moist.

4. After 6-12 days, true leaves will grow

After 6-12 days, the sunflower will grow opposite true leaves. If the seedlings are too dense, you can use a toothpick to carefully peel off the soil, pull out the seedlings, and plant them in other pots. Generally, it is enough to plant 1-3 trees in a flowerpot with a diameter of about 14 cm.

5. With sufficient water and fertilizer, the seedlings grow rapidly

If you want the seedlings to grow faster, you can water them with compound fertilizer or homemade fruit peel fertilizer once a week. The seedlings need sufficient light during the growth period, and water them thoroughly once every morning. The more leaves you grow, the more water you need.

6. After 30 days, flower buds begin to appear

30 days after the seeds germinate, you will see flower buds on the top of the sunflower plant! This means that the sunflower has entered its most vigorous growth period.

7. Apply phosphorus fertilizer, the flower buds will grow bigger and bigger

If you want the flower buds to bloom into big, beautiful flowers, you need to provide adequate water and apply more phosphorus fertilizer. When the weather is clear, water once in the morning and evening every day. When it is cloudy, water once every morning. When watering or when it rains, do not let moisture enter the flower buds.

8. Remove side branches and small flower buds

In most cases, the flower buds at the top of the sunflower will develop better, while the side branches and other small flower buds will only occupy nutrients in vain. After picking them off, they will be thrown into the soil in the pot as nutrients.

9. After 40 days, the plant grows to 25 cm

Sunflowers grow very fast. After the buds appear, they grow even faster and can grow 1/2 in height.

10. After 45 days, the sunflowers bloomed

The sunflower has big and beautiful flowers, and its round face is so cute!

11. After the flower disk is dried, collect the seeds

After the flowers have bloomed, wait for the flower disk to dry, then the seeds will fall off when you touch it lightly with your hand. Then dry the seeds in the sun for 3 days, then you can fry and eat them! Each sunflower seed is plump and fragrant, and you can’t get enough of it!

After enjoying the beautiful flowers, you can also get melon seeds, it’s so worth it!
