How to grow violets through leaf cuttings

How to grow violets through leaf cuttings

1. Time

The best time to use this method is after flowering, which is around May. The temperature is relatively high at this time, which is more suitable for leaf cuttings.

2. Preparation

1. Select the flower branches with full flesh and complete leaves and cut them. Each flower branch only needs to have two leaves. After cutting it, put it in a cool place to dry for about 2 days to allow the wound to become dry.

3. Prepare a pot of plain sand and water the sand enough, but not too wet.

4. Keep the temperature above 18 degrees.

III. Methods

1. Insert the processed branches directly into the sand. If the temperature and humidity cannot be maintained, you can wrap it with plastic film. Open it around noon to let it ventilate and spray some water on it to increase the humidity.

2. After about 20 days, it will grow roots, and small buds will be seen sprouting in about 60 days. At this time, the two leaves from the leaf cuttings will slowly dry up. This is normal and there is no need to worry too much. When the seedlings are stronger, they can be placed in the sun. It takes more than half a year from leaf cuttings to flowering. During this period, friends need to maintain the temperature and humidity and take good care of it, otherwise it will be difficult for it to bloom.

The above is the specific method of leaf cuttings. Although this method has a higher chance of survival, it cannot guarantee the quality of the plant, especially the quality of flowering. However, friends can try it, especially novices. It is also a good choice to practice.
