How to propagate golden thread vine

Division

Time: Spring and autumn, but not every year, it is best to do it every 3 years.

Method: Choose strong and sturdy plants, or those with relatively dense pseudobulbs. Before dividing the plants, stop watering and let the soil dry out. After dividing the plants, make sure that at least 5 pseudobulbs are connected together for each plant. Then you can plant it directly into the soil. The soil should be enough to bury the bulb completely, but not too deep. Then water it enough to allow water to flow out of the water holes at the bottom. Place it in a cool place for 10 to 15 days. During this period, make sure to keep the soil moist. Then gradually reduce watering and resume normal management.

sowing

Time: When the temperature is above 25 degrees.

Method: Its seeds are not as easy to germinate as other seeds and require additional cultivation. Select the fruits that have not completely cracked, sterilize them with alcohol first, then remove the shells, harvest the seeds, and soak them in sodium chlorate for 5 to 10 minutes. After the time is up, take them out and rinse them carefully three times with sterile water, place them in a culture bottle, and place the bottle in a dark space at 25 degrees for maintenance. Wait until small sprouts appear and then move it to a well-lit place for maintenance. It takes half a year or a year from sowing to transplanting. Therefore, ordinary flower growers basically do not use this method.
