Off-season goose breeding method

Off-season goose breeding method

Under the traditional breeding method of geese, sales are concentrated and the benefits are not very significant. Therefore, many people raise geese off-season. Here we will introduce to you the breeding method of off-season mother geese.

1. Goose house requirements

The goose house used for off-season breeding must first be fully enclosed and have completely controlled light, that is, it must be completely free from interference from sunlight and completely dark. The goose house should be well ventilated, with a combination of double ridge vents and wall bottom vents, and roller shutters installed on the wall at a height of about 1 meter near the ground.

2. Enhance nutrition

The egg production of geese gradually increased after light treatment. At the same time, the feed intake gradually decreased and finally stabilized. This is because feed control causes the geese to become thin. When adding feed to promote production, the feed intake will increase sharply, but as the body condition continues to recover, the feed intake will gradually decrease. In order to fully exert the egg-laying performance of breeding geese, sufficient nutrition supply is required. Therefore, it is best to feed complete feed for the laying period at the beginning of the lighting treatment to prevent the problem of nutritional deficiency affecting egg production.

3. Keep warm

The temperature suitable for breeding geese to lay eggs is 5 to 25 degrees Celsius. When the temperature is below 0 degrees Celsius, the breeding geese will lay fewer eggs or even stop laying eggs. Therefore, cold and heat preservation in winter cannot be ignored. The top of the goose shed is covered with straw felt or plastic film , the back wall and gable are sealed tightly, and only the entrance and exit for the geese are left on the front wall, and the other parts are covered with transparent plastic. Lay 5 to 8 cm thick, clean and dry bedding in the shed and be careful to prevent it from getting moldy.

4. Suitable ratio

For small geese, the ratio is 1: (5-6); for medium-sized geese, the ratio is 1: (4-5). Observe the mating situation of the gander regularly and adjust the gander at any time to ensure that the fertilization rate of the breeding eggs reaches the ideal level (above 85%). Keep the appropriate slope of the edge of the goose bathing pool at 15 to 20 degrees to facilitate the geese to bathe and mate, thereby improving the fertilization rate.

5. Goose health care

In summer, multivitamins, sodium bicarbonate and other anti-heat stress feed additives should be added to egg-laying feed to enhance the physique of mother geese and alleviate the adverse effects of heat stress. In addition, a shade film can be installed above the playground to provide shade, while keeping the goose house well ventilated, or a wet curtain fan system can be used to control the temperature and air quality in the goose house to minimize the adverse effects of hot weather.
