How to raise the red flower jade in winter

How to raise the red flower jade in winter

Watering and maintenance

The red flower jade plant requires a dry growing environment. There should be no water accumulation in the pot soil. It is afraid of waterlogging. Generally, it is enough to keep the pot soil "dry when wet";

After winter, watering must be prohibited and the soil in the pot must be kept dry to induce the plant to enter a dormant state.

This will protect the plants from being frozen due to their active growth, so don't water them in winter!

Temperature Management

As long as the growth temperature of the red flower jade is not lower than 2℃-5℃, it can safely overwinter;

However, when the temperature is lowest in winter, in order to prevent the plants from frost damage, you can cover the plants with plastic film to keep them warm.

The best way to keep the plant warm is to wrap the entire plant with cotton or straw and then store it in a wooden box. This way it will be safe over the winter.

Repotting and maintenance

After winter, if the space at home is not sufficient for the growth of the plant, you can wait until the soil in the pot is dry, pour out the soil in the pot, wrap the bare roots with cotton straw to keep warm and prevent frost, and then store them in a box or cabinet. This not only makes space convenient, but also protects the plant from damage by cold and frost.

After the temperature rises, you can remove the wrapping on the plant, put the plant back in the pot, place it in a dry place indoors, allow it to gradually come into contact with sunlight, and resume normal maintenance.

It should also be noted that when spring just arrives, do not rush to place it outdoors for maintenance because the temperature is still unstable. Wait until the temperature becomes warm and stable, and then take it out of the house and maintain it outdoors.
