Blueberry Tree Growing Conditions and Characteristics

Blueberry tree growth conditions

Blueberry trees are generally more suitable for growing in a warm and well-lit environment. There are certain requirements for soil and humidity when planting. Usually, the origin of blueberry trees is widely distributed, and they are more commonly planted in Jilin, Heilongjiang and Liaoning in the northeast.

The most suitable growth temperature for blueberry trees is around 15-20 degrees. Blueberry trees are very cold-resistant and not afraid of freezing. Some varieties of blueberry trees can withstand temperatures as low as minus 35 degrees Celsius and can also withstand high temperatures of 40 degrees Celsius.

Blueberry Tree Growth Period and Process

Blueberry trees grow better in slightly acidic soil. Generally, they will begin to sprout and grow in mid-to-late April in spring, start to bloom around May, and the fruits will mature in October in autumn.

Blueberry trees carry out photosynthesis while growing and have relatively high requirements for light. Their general growth cycle goes through germination, seedlings, growth, flowering and fruiting, and they usually complete a stage of growth every 1 or 2 months.

Blueberry tree planting process and methods

1. Planting: Fill the blueberry tree seedlings into acidic peat soil, then spread out the roots, cover them with soil, and then cover them with a layer of straw and leaf mold.

2. Fertilization: After planting, you can apply pollution-free Kao fertilizer once, which can promote later flowering and fruiting.

3. Maintenance: When winter comes, anti-freeze measures need to be taken. You can pile snow on the trees or apply maintenance drugs on the blueberry trees.
