Pothos

Many families grow it. It likes shade, humidity and heat, and is very suitable for indoor cultivation. If well cared for, you can let it climb on a support, wall, and grow it into a hanging shape and place it in a study, windowsill, etc.

Maintenance points:

1. The green radish you buy has usually been frozen, so its leaves will quickly turn yellow if placed indoors. After these yellow leaves fall off, new leaves will grow again during the Spring Festival.

2. Water 1-2 times, water thoroughly, avoid water accumulation, and keep ventilation. If you have heating at home in winter, you don’t need to control the water, just maintain this watering frequency. Water is lost quickly in summer, so in addition to watering more often, you should also spray the leaves with water. Larger green radish plants also require more watering.

3. It grows faster in an environment with high air humidity. You can use a humidifier and spray water to increase the air humidity.

4. Prepare some professional liquid fertilizer or foliar fertilizer for foliage plants, and apply it to the green radish 1-2 times a month. This way, the green radish will not only be lush and green, but also grow very fast and will soon be able to climb all over the wall.

5. When the green ivy gets close to the wall, it will use its aerial roots to grab the wall and climb up. It does not need to be fixed manually. However, indoors, because the wall is relatively dry, it needs manual help. You can use tape to fix its stems to the wall. Do not let the tape come into direct contact with the stems. You can use a little toilet paper or cotton to gently separate them.

ivy

The leaf color and shape of ivy vary greatly. It is evergreen all year round and is a graceful climbing plant that can be used for vertical greening of trellises or walls.

Maintenance points:

1. Ivy is not cold-resistant and is afraid of heat. In winter, the room temperature should be kept above 10℃ and not lower than 5℃, otherwise it will be easily damaged by frost. In summer, attention should be paid to ventilation and cooling.

2. Do not water too much. Water the plants when the soil is dry and wet. Control watering in winter when the room temperature is low. Water more in summer and spray water on the plants frequently to increase the air humidity. The climate in the north is dry in winter. During the winter, it is best to spray the branches and leaves with clean water close to room temperature once in a while to keep the leaves clean and green.

3. During the peak season, apply a thin layer of cake fertilizer water once every half a month or so. You can also spray 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution on the leaves to make the leaf color more beautiful. However, care must be taken not to contaminate the leaves when applying liquid fertilizer, so as to avoid causing the leaves to burn.

4. When the newly potted seedlings grow to a certain height, they should be topped off in time to encourage the sprouting of side branches and form a plump plant shape. Generally, repotting is done every 2-3 years in early spring.

▼Hanging potted plants, the branches hang down naturally to form curtains.

Buddhist beads

Native to South Africa. The leaves are fleshy, spherical to spindle-shaped, with tail stems hanging or creeping on the soil surface, and are mostly cultivated as hanging pot plants.

Maintenance points:

Buddhist beads need a cool, dry and full-sunlight environment to grow. They tolerate partial shade, are afraid of waterlogging, and avoid stuffiness and humidity.

1. Temperature: When the soil in the pot is dry, it can withstand temperatures as low as minus 2 degrees Celsius, which is the indoor temperature, not outdoor temperature. But try to keep the temperature above 0 degrees in winter, otherwise the temperature will be too low and the plants will easily be frozen and die. And strengthen ventilation, provide appropriate shade and avoid exposure to the sun.

2. Watering: Water every 3-4 days during the growing season (March to December each year). Keep the soil slightly moist to avoid waterlogging. There is basically no water supply throughout the winter, and the water supply will be gradually cut off when the temperature drops below 5 degrees.

3. Repotting: Buddha beads grow relatively fast, so it is enough to repot them once every 1 to 2 years. Repotting should be done before the first watering in early spring. Buddhist beads will grow many branches.

Air Plants

Air plants are the only plants on earth that do not need soil and can live directly in the air. They absorb moisture from the air through the small scales on their leaves, so as long as they maintain sufficient humidity, they can grow healthy. They are also lazy plants that are often kept at home.

Maintenance points:

Temperature: Air plants can withstand temperatures as low as 0 degrees and as high as 40 degrees, and the suitable temperature for growth is 15 to 30 degrees.

Light: Air plants like light. If there is insufficient light, the plants will easily become weak and grow too tall.

Watering: Spray water frequently to maintain air humidity; spray water every day when the air is dry, and spray water 2-3 times a week when the humidity is high. In addition, spray water every day for needle-leaf and sword-leaf types.

Curtain method:

1. Choose varieties with extended leaves, such as the Usnea pineapple with slender linear stems, the vivid octopus pineapple and tiger-striped pineapple.

2. Wrap the outer leaves around, then gently tighten and tie a knot, or use hot melt glue to stick the air plant directly to the horizontal rod of the curtain to complete the hanging process.

Hoya

Hoya is a perennial climbing shrub that prefers scattered light. Its flowers are spherical and fragrant. When using Hoya to create plant curtains, you need to make a stand for the Hoya.

Maintenance points:

1. Temperature: The suitable temperature for Hoya growth is 15~25 degrees, and it should be kept above 10 degrees in winter.

2. Light: Ball orchid likes light and avoids exposure to the sun. Therefore, when placed on the south balcony in summer, it needs to be shaded when the sunlight is too strong.

3. Watering: Hoya is a fleshy plant, so it is not advisable to water it too much, as this will easily lead to rot. It likes moisture, so you can spray water on the leaves frequently to keep them moist.

Brocade wisteria

The slender aerial roots of the Brocade Screen Vine are as thin as silk and as soft as water. Hundreds or thousands of them hang down from the trellis, spreading out like a curtain of dreams.

Maintenance points:

1. Temperature: The suitable temperature for growth is about 22-30℃. It will shed its leaves in winter, grow slowly, and not grow aerial roots. When the temperature drops below 10℃, you must pay attention to keep warm.

2. Light: Brocade screen wisteria is a sun-loving plant and is best planted on a sunny indoor balcony or on a desk near a balcony.

3. Watering: Water every 1-2 days in summer and every 2-3 days in winter, and apply thin fertilizer every 2-3 months.

4. Pruning: It grows fast in summer, so it is necessary to prune it in time to facilitate ventilation.

Curtain method:

1. After the Jinping vine seedlings have survived in the planting pot for a period of time, select a strong branch as the main vine for cultivation, and cut off the immature part with entanglement at the head end to ensure the growth advantage of the main vine.

2. Use a rope to carefully wrap the main vine around the support and allow it to grow in a clockwise direction.

Many vines grow well.
