Can wintersweet branches survive by grafting?

Can wintersweet branches survive by grafting?

1. Can be inserted

Cutting is one of the main methods of propagating wintersweet, so as long as you choose suitable branches and insert them into suitable flower soil, you can make it survive. If you want to take cuttings of its branches, it is recommended to do it in winter after it has finished flowering. Because the branches at this time have a higher growth ability, they are easier to survive after being buried in the soil.

2. How to insert live

1. Choose branches: It is advisable to choose branches grown in the current year and with roots near the bottom of the plant for cuttings. Because such branches have better survival ability. Do not choose long branches or branches in hidden places for cuttings.

2. Prepare flower soil: It is advisable to use relatively loose, easy-to-drain, and fertile flower soil for cuttings. This is beneficial for the rooting and growth of its branches. Do not use soil that is too hard for cuttings, otherwise the cuttings will not survive.

3. Processing branches: Cut the branches into a length of about 20 cm and remove excess leaves. After that, soak it in rooting water for about 30 minutes, then take it out and dry it.

4. Carry out cuttings: Place the bottom of the branch downward and insert it into the selected flower soil. The depth of soil should be controlled at about 10cm. After that, water it once, put a layer of bag on the outside of the branches, and wait for it to take root.
