How to propagate Mo Lan

Growth habits of Molan

Mo Lan prefers warm and shady environment, avoids direct sunlight and severe cold, likes moisture and cannot tolerate dryness, so it mostly grows in dense forests facing the sun with abundant rainfall.

How to propagate Mo Lan

Mo Lan mainly propagates by division, which is carried out in March every spring. The method is as follows:

one, When dividing the plants, you should choose acidic soil rich in humus. It is best to use a purple clay pot or a plastic pot. Choose large plants that have been planted for about three to five years as breeding materials.

two, Do not water the plant a few days before division, because the roots and leaves of the plant are fragile when there is sufficient water, and will wilt and become soft when there is a lack of water. This makes it less likely to be damaged and easier to operate.

three, After division, place the plant in the shade of a tree or under the eaves to avoid direct sunlight. If some flower lovers grow plants in a building, if there are east-west balconies, they should place the plants on the east balcony, and if there are north-south balconies, they should place the plants on the north balcony.

Four, The suitable temperature for the growth of Mo Lan is 20-28℃. If the temperature is lower than 20℃, Mo Lan will grow slowly. If the temperature reaches 30℃, Mo Lan will be forced to enter a dormant state. The lowest temperature that Mo Lan can withstand is -2°C, so the temperature must be kept above -2°C in winter.

five, Mo Lan, which is grown at home, usually overwinters indoors, so there is no need to take any warming measures during the cold winter and spring seasons to ensure that the Mo Lan safely survives the cold weather. If some flower lovers are growing black orchids in the sheltered part of the balcony or in the courtyard, they can build a temporary greenhouse with plastic film.

The above is the propagation method of Mo Lan! I hope that flower lovers can breed healthy black orchids according to the editor’s introduction!
