How to propagate cherry blossoms by cuttings

Cutting time

The time for cherry blossom cuttings generally lasts from mid-June in summer to mid-September in autumn. During this period, cherry blossoms can be propagated by cuttings.

Cutting steps

When taking cuttings for cherry blossoms, the first thing to do is to choose the cuttings: use a strong mother tree as the basis, cut a branch that has been growing for more than one year from the crown of the mother tree, then keep the top of the cut branch, cut it into cuttings about 15 cm long, and then cut the bottom of the cutting into an oblique shape to facilitate cuttings.

Secondly, soak the cut branches for about 3 hours before preparing the cutting bed. The cutting bed should be sheltered from the wind and facing the sun, and the cutting bed should have good drainage properties. When planting cuttings, space them out by plant and insert them into the soil about 5 cm deep.

Finally, after the cuttings are completed, take care of them by watering them first and then covering them tightly with a film. Do this once every morning. The temperature during management should be kept warm and constant. In terms of watering, enough water should be supplied in the initial period, and you can water it in large quantities. After the roots have taken root, ventilate the plant once in the morning and once in the evening. Transplant the cuttings when they reach a certain size.

After transplanting, the amount of watering should be reduced. Once transplanted into a pot or field, water it abundantly, provide sufficient water and provide shade.

Or first transplant the cuttings into a nutrient pot, add enough water, cover with film, pay attention to shade and moisturizing, ventilate in the morning and evening, and wait for about 10 days before opening the film and exposing to sunlight. Then transplant it into the field or into potted soil.

Well, now your cherry blossoms can be propagated by cuttings, and it will also bring more offspring to your cherry blossoms. Today I will tell you all this, be sure to do it as required!
