Orange cultivation methods and precautions

Orange cultivation methods and precautions

1. Maintenance methods

1. Substrate selection: The soil requirement is well-drained, loose, slightly acidic sandy loam. When potted, it should be mixed with leaf mold, sandy soil and cake fertilizer.

2. Light management: It likes plenty of sunlight, so give it good enough light. Oranges prefer cool climates in the summer and should be placed in the shade when light intensity is high.

3. Temperature management: Oranges prefer a warm and refreshing growing environment. They should be moved indoors in time when the temperature is low in autumn. The room temperature in winter should be kept between 6 and 12 degrees Celsius.

4. Nutrient management: From germination to flowering, use decomposed thin soy sauce residue water once a week. Using more phosphorus fertilizer after summer will help the plants to bud and bear fruit.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Pruning: Prune before the spring buds grow out, cut off dead branches, diseased and insect-infested branches, overcrowded branches and overgrown branches, and keep a few strong and evenly distributed branches.

2. Overwintering: In winter, the indoor temperature should be kept between 6 and 12 degrees Celsius. If the temperature is too low, the plants will easily be frozen, which is not conducive to flowering and fruiting in the second year.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Flower rot: Do not spray too much water during the flowering period, and do not let the flowers be exposed to rain during the flowering period, which is not conducive to plant pollination and may also easily cause flower rot.

2. Root rot: During the rainy season, pour out the accumulated water in the pot in time, and do not water too much, otherwise it will cause root rot.

IV. Other issues

1. Can it be grown at home: Yes, it can be grown at home. It is a good indoor decorative tree species in winter and can also purify the air. There are many small holes on orange leaves, which emit a fresh fragrance and have a refreshing effect.

2. Whether it can be exposed to rain: It cannot be exposed to excessive rain. The accumulated water must be cleaned up in time, otherwise the roots will rot and easily affect the growth of the plants.
