Cultivation methods and precautions of strawberry spider plant

Cultivation methods and precautions of strawberry spider plant

1. Maintenance methods

1. Substrate selection: When growing strawberry spider plants, do not use alkaline or heavy clay soil. It is suitable for growing in loose and well-ventilated soil, which is conducive to root growth.

2. Temperature management: The most suitable temperature for its growth is around 15-28℃. Especially at noon in summer, you need to spray water slightly to effectively lower the temperature.

3. Water management: Strawberry Chlorophytum is suitable for growing in a humid environment, but it cannot be waterlogged, let alone dry. Suitable moisture is best.

4. Nutrient management: Apply fertilizer 1-2 times during the early spring growing season to ensure sufficient nutrients for the growth of new branches and leaves. Before the flowering period, the main fertilizers are phosphorus and potassium, which can be applied 1-2 times to promote flowering and fruiting, but too much topdressing is not advisable.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Sowing: Cut the small young plants from the mother plant of strawberry spider plant and plant them in the potted container prepared in advance. Just cover it with a layer of fine soil, add rich organic fertilizer, then water it sufficiently and place it in a cool and ventilated place. Wait for the water to be fully absorbed and the plant to adapt to the environment, then place it in a sunny environment to promote sunlight absorption.

2. Division: The operation of division propagation is relatively simple. First place the cut plants in a dry place for 2 hours, and then move them into the pot. Pay attention to take protective measures when cutting to avoid improper operation and hurt yourself.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Root rot: Keep the soil in the pot slightly moist at ordinary times, and avoid being too dry or too wet. Too dry leaves will easily burn, and too wet will easily cause root rot. If the roots are rotten, they must be removed in time and the rotten parts must be cut off.

2. Pests: Its fruits are easily eaten by insects and birds, so try to place it in a potted plant indoors to avoid being attacked by insects and birds.

IV. Other issues

1. Is it poisonous? Strawberry spider plant is a non-toxic ornamental plant, suitable for home potted plants, and its fruits are edible.

2. When does it bloom: Strawberry spider plant usually starts to grow new leaves in early spring, and then begins to bloom small white flowers, and the fruits are ripe in May.
