Why are the leaves of Zi Chi Nian Hua wilting?

The reason why the leaves of Zi Chi Nian Hua wilt

Improper repotting

If you are new to growing succulents, don't rush to change pots or pinch leaves and take cuttings after buying them. Even if you find a step-by-step diagram and follow the instructions, errors are inevitable due to different environments. Or if the roots are damaged when repotting, it will be basically difficult to recover. Although it grows well on the day of repotting, it will wilt and become waterlogged after 3 to 4 days.

Overwatering

Question: How do succulents die?

Answer: It died from waterlogging.

This is a common cause of death in succulents. Zi Chi Nian Hua prefers dryness to waterlogging. The plant is originally small and the air permeability of the pot is relatively poor. If it is watered improperly or not watered thoroughly, it will grow too tall at best, or rot without leaving any roots at worst.

Overfertilization

The growth of Zi Chi Nian Hua does not require a lot of fertilizer. Excessive fertilizer can easily cause the leaves to wilt. Usually it starts from the roots, and there is not much change on the upper part of the leaves. The wilting of the leaves will accelerate in the later stage.

How to solve the problem of wilting leaves of Zi Chi Nian Hua

Re-cutting

Break off the waterlogged leaves at the bottom and check if there are any problems with the stems at the bottom. If there are any problems, cut them off directly, dry them in a ventilated place for a few days and then replant them. If many of the runners that grow out are obviously dry and softened, cut off the heads and replant them.

It can usually survive after a little tossing and turning. If left alone, it may slowly dissolve from the bottom to the top.

Heating and ventilation

The soil in the pot is too wet. It is recommended to place it on the south windowsill in a high temperature and ventilated environment to allow the soil to dry quickly.

Or you can change to a larger and shallower pot to increase the air permeability of the soil. With a little ventilation, the soil will dry out quickly, and the plant will not grow poorly due to excessive watering.
