Its flowers usually bloom before the leaves. They are not solitary, but usually clustered in four to ten on an old branch. The flowers are rose red in color.

Different flowering periods: The flowering period of the silk cotton tree is from September to January of the following year, and winter is its peak flowering period. The flowering period of Bauhinia is from April to May. It blooms before the leaves in early spring, and the branches will be covered with flowers after blooming.
