The difference between water plum blossom and impatiens

1. Different families

The water plum blossom and the impatiens are essentially not the same plant and do not look very similar. It is an evergreen shrub or small tree of the Apocynaceae family and the genus Impatiens, and is often planted as a hedge plant.

Impatiens is different from the former. It is a plant belonging to the Impatiens family and the Impatiens genus. It has many nicknames, such as Impatiens, Daughter Flower, and Henna.

2. Different leaves

The leaves of water plum are lanceolate in shape, with wavy edges and a lighter color than the latter, similar to grass green.

The leaves of Impatiens are different in shape from the previous ones. They are longer. In addition to lanceolate, they can also be oblanceolate or narrowly elliptical in shape. The edges are sharply serrated and the length is about 4-12 cm. The color is relatively dark, showing a dark green color.

3. Different flowers

The water plum blossom has white flowers, five petals, and large gaps between petals.

The color of Impatiens is generally red, but there are also white, pink, purple, etc. It has both single petals and double petals. The gaps between the petals are relatively small and they are close together.
