How to grow daylilies on the balcony and what to pay attention to

How to grow daylilies on the balcony and what to pay attention to

1. Lighting

Daylily is a plant that loves sunlight very much. Although it can grow in a semi-shaded environment, in order to maintain good growth, it is best to provide sufficient light. For home care, you can place it outdoors or on the balcony. Be careful not to place it on a north-facing balcony as it will lack a lot of light. Reasonable exposure to light can make the plant strong and ensure the number of flowers, which will help its later development.

2. Water

It is relatively drought-resistant, and even if it is not watered for a period of time, it will have little impact on its growth. However, it prefers a humid environment, and maintaining sufficient water is conducive to its growth. Generally speaking, in spring and autumn, water should be applied about every 4-5 days to avoid water shortage during the growing season. The evaporation rate is high in summer, so you can water the plants every three days or so to prevent the soil from becoming too dry.

3. Fertilization

After planting, basal fertilizer needs to be applied to lay the nutritional foundation for growth. During the growth period of new shoots, it is necessary to apply fertilizer reasonably to ensure the nutritional supply for growth. Proper fertilization is also needed before the flowering period to promote flowering.

4. Temperature

It has a strong adaptability to the environment. If the surrounding environment is maintained at 15-25 degrees, it will grow relatively quickly, which is conducive to good growth.
