Cultivation methods and precautions of Brazilian wood

1. Soil

The rubber tree does not have high requirements for soil. If you want it to grow better, it is best to use loose, humus-containing, well-drained acidic soil.

2. Watering

During the growth period of the rubber tree, it is necessary to water it sufficiently to keep the soil moist. Insufficient watering will cause it to grow poorly, so make sure to water it thoroughly. After entering autumn, you need to control the amount of watering. In winter, you must reduce or stop watering. If you water too much, the roots will rot.

3. Lighting

The rubber tree is very shade-tolerant and likes sunlight. If there is not enough sunlight, the leaves will turn yellow and the leaf patterns will easily disappear. It is necessary to maintain sufficient sunlight in spring, autumn and winter, and avoid direct sunlight in summer to prevent leaf burns. When growing it indoors, place it in a bright, sunny location.

4. Temperature

The rubber tree needs a growing environment of 20-30℃. If the temperature is suitable, it will grow all year round. The temperature in winter should be controlled above 5℃. If the temperature is too low, yellow spots will appear on the tips of the leaves. When the temperature is high in summer, it should be properly shaded and water should be sprayed all around to lower the temperature.

5. Notes

1. The rubber tree can grow into a large plant. When it grows too tall, the leaves will fall off, which will seriously affect its appearance. Therefore, it must be pruned in time to increase its ornamental effect and grow new branches.

2. It will be attacked by leaf spot disease and stem rot. After the disease occurs, it should be sprayed with wettable chlorothalonil or wettable methyl thiophanate for prevention and control.
