Oak tree cultivation methods and precautions

Oak tree cultivation methods and precautions

1. Maintenance methods

1. Soil: Oak trees do not have very high requirements for soil. As long as the soil is breathable and loose, they can grow well. Garden soil, river sand and an appropriate amount of base fertilizer are mixed together to make it suitable for its growth.

2. Fertilizer: In the early stage of oak tree growth, more fertilizer is needed because the initial growth rate is still relatively fast and more nutrients are needed. Sufficient topdressing 2-3 times a year is enough.

3. Watering: The amount of water required during the growth period is also very large, and watering can be done by flooding. However, be careful not to allow water to accumulate to prevent long-term soaking and root rot.

4. Light: The oak tree is relatively sturdy and needs more light. When planting, plant it in a location with good lighting conditions.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Pruning: Good-looking oak trees need pruning. Its new branches grow relatively fast, so pruning only leaves 2 or 3 relatively thick nodes.

2. Reproduction: Oak trees reproduce mainly by seeds, which need to be kept at 5°C for at least 30 days. It will germinate about 15-20 days after planting. When sowing, place the seeds horizontally in the soil.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Wilting: The wilt of oak leaves is mostly caused by the low ambient temperature. When this happens, move it to a warm place as soon as possible. Especially in winter, but be careful not to place it too close to the heater.

2. The leaves turn black and fall off: This is more likely to happen during winter maintenance. This is because its growth almost stagnates in winter. If it cannot absorb too much water, it will cause root rot, blackening of leaves, and even death. If this happens, stop the water supply immediately and drain and ventilate the area.
