Cultivation methods and precautions of Zisun ball

Cultivation methods and precautions of Zisun ball

1. Maintenance methods

1. Watering: The ball plant has very good drought resistance. When caring for it, just water it when you find the soil is dry. Never allow water to accumulate in the potting soil. It's fine to water it when it's dry, but be careful not to water the plant.

2. Temperature: It will grow faster and stronger in a warm environment. The lowest tolerant temperature is 2°C. It can grow well in summer at temperatures below 35°C. It is afraid of cold but not heat.

3. Light: Adequate light will make it grow better. Even in summer, there is no need to block the sunlight. Just make sure the environment is ventilated. Usually, try to maintain it in a place with good lighting. Lack of light will cause it to grow too tall, thus reducing its ornamental value.

4. Fertilization: Spring and autumn are the seasons of vigorous growth, so apply a thin liquid fertilizer once a month. In the summer, a long-lasting fertilizer will be enough. The same is true in winter. Be careful not to apply too much fertilizer to avoid root burn due to inability to absorb it.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Repotting: Repotting is basically done once a year. It is better to wait until the soil is completely dry, which will make it easier to remove from the pot. At the same time, cut off the dead and old roots, place them in a ventilated place to dry the wounds, and then you can put them in the pot. You can change to a larger pot and new soil.

2. Cutting: When the plant grows to two or three years old, many bulbs will grow at its bottom. You can directly select the stronger ones, cut them off and let the wounds dry, then you can plant them. Then keep it in a location with scattered light and weak light, and new roots will grow in a month.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Stem rot: This disease is relatively common. When the disease occurs, yellow-green spots will appear on the ball, and these spots will gradually begin to rot and expand. After discovery, the affected area should be removed promptly and then disinfected.

2. Red spider mites: Red spider mites are prone to appear in closed environments with poor ventilation. This pest mainly feeds on its sap. The harm to plants is relatively large. When it is discovered, it is recommended to use 1000 times liquid solution of 40% trichloronate to kill it.

IV. Other issues

1. Indoors: The ball can be grown indoors and can be placed on a TV cabinet or desk. However, it is recommended to place it in a place with good lighting, such as windowsills and balconies. It will be very beautiful when it blooms.

2. Overwintering: Be sure to take measures to keep warm in winter. It is not resistant to low temperatures and is likely to freeze to death in an environment below 2°C. It needs to be kept indoors over the winter.
