Cultivation methods and precautions of Chinese fern

Cultivation methods and precautions of Chinese fern

1. Maintenance methods

1. Temperature: It is a warm temperate tree species, and we have mentioned its main distribution range above. From this we can see that it likes warmth and is best kept between twenty and thirty degrees. Its cold resistance is relatively good, but it is better not to drop below zero degrees, which is safer.

2. Light: Schefflera chinensis is a positive plant and has a high demand for sunlight. It can tolerate partial shade, but not very dark for a long time. Generally speaking, unless the light is very strong in the summer, there is no need to shade it at other times. Try to let it receive light for a longer time, which is beneficial to the photosynthesis of the leaves.

3. Watering: The Chinese Schisandra chinensis likes moisture and is also more resistant to waterlogging. On the contrary, its drought tolerance is not very good. According to its characteristics, the soil needs to be kept slightly moist at all times, but don't apply too much fertilizer in winter.

4. Fertilization: It has a high demand for nutrients in the soil. In addition to base fertilizer, fertilizer can be applied once or twice a month.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Reproduction: It can be propagated by sowing. The first step is to harvest the fruits and collect the seeds in November when the fruits are ripe. Sowing can be done around February. Before sowing, it is best to soak it in warm water at about 45 degrees for more than six hours, and then sow. After choosing a location for sowing, it is best to disinfect the soil. After sowing, cover with a layer of soil about 0.5 cm thick, and then build a sunshade.

2. Pruning: Pruning is very important in the maintenance of Chinese fuchsia. The first step is to prune some branches and leaves, such as those that are too dense or dry. In addition, if you place it as a bonsai at home for viewing, you can tinker with its shape.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Diseases: There is mainly one disease called "stem rot", which is more likely to occur from April to June, especially in places with poor ventilation. There will also be "cataplexy" and so on. It can be treated with drugs such as carbendazim.

2. Pests: There will be some "red spiders", "camel wasps" and so on, both the eggs and adults will be harmful. Therefore, while eliminating the adult insects, the eggs must also be cleaned up.

IV. Other issues

1. Toxicity: It is completely non-toxic.

2. Can it be raised at home? Yes, but it will take up a lot of space.
