How to cultivate lyre leaf coral

How to cultivate lyre leaf coral

1. Maintenance methods

1. Temperature: The growth of harp leaf coral requires relatively high temperature, which is generally controlled between 26 and 28 degrees. Since it is very cold-intolerant, the minimum temperature should be kept above twelve degrees. In the south, people can do outdoor activities in winter, but this is not suitable in the north, where people absolutely cannot spend the winter outdoors.

2. Watering: It likes moisture and needs sufficient humidity to grow normally. It is afraid of drought. If the soil is too dry, it will grow poorly or even wither. Be sure to pay attention to watering in summer to ensure its good growth. But liking moisture does not mean that it can withstand waterlogging. Just water it thoroughly during watering.

3. Light: Warm and dry sunlight is best for its growth and can promote its flowering. If there is not enough light, it will easily grow too tall and spread without order, which will greatly reduce its ornamental effect. Of course, try to find a shaded environment for it in the summer to be careful of it withering in the sun.

4. Fertilization: Fertilizer and loose soil are best. It needs to be fertilized from time to time. The amount of fertilizer should be determined according to the growth condition of the plant. It can be used in combination with nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. However, the application of phosphorus fertilizer should be reduced during the flowering period, as phosphorus fertilizer will cause premature falling of flowers.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Reproduction: Cutting is the main method of reproduction, which usually starts in spring. Choose one-year-old disease-free branches and cut them about 15 centimeters. At least three leaves should be removed from the branches. After cutting, the soil needs to be kept moist and warm. If the temperature is too low, the possibility of germination is very small.

2. Pruning: There is a high possibility that the harp leaf coral will grow too tall, so it needs to be controlled by pruning. Moreover, as an ornamental plant, dead branches and leaves will seriously affect its beautification of the environment, so it needs to be pruned in time.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Disease: Sooty mold will occur. This disease will cause the plant to be unable to photosynthesize normally, resulting in plant growth decline. It can be controlled by using wettable powder.

2. Pests: Aphids can seriously harm its flowering. You can spray dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane solution to eliminate them.

IV. Other issues

1. Toxicity: It is poisonous. Its juice is highly toxic and must not be ingested by mistake. If it gets on the skin accidentally, blisters or pustules will appear, so be careful.

2. Can it be raised at home?: Not suitable. It is usually planted in gardens for viewing and beautifying the environment.
