How to raise Thousand Buddha Hands

How to raise Thousand Buddha Hands

1. Breeding conditions

1. Soil: It likes nutritious, well-permeable acidic loam. Heavy alkaline soil will not play a good role in its growth and development.

2. Light: It likes sunlight and can be grown on a balcony or bay window. When the sunlight is strong in summer, appropriate shading should be taken.

3. Watering: Water thoroughly once immediately after planting, and then keep the soil moist. When the temperature rises in April and May, you can increase the amount of water and spray around the plant to increase the air humidity, which will have a moisturizing and cooling effect.

4. Fertilization: Fertilization should be combined with watering, which can be roughly divided into four stages: the first stage is from the Spring Equinox to the Grain in Ear, and it is recommended to fertilize every 7 days; the second stage is between the Grain in Ear and the Great Heat, and it is recommended to fertilize every 3-5 days, and the nutrients in the fertilizer should be more concentrated than the previous time; the third stage is from the Great Heat to the Autumnal Equinox; the fourth time should be from the White Dew to the Frost Descent.

2. Breeding Methods

1. Leaf cuttings: During the growing season, cut the stronger branches from the mother plant and place them flat on moist soil. They will generally take root in about 15 days. After taking root, continue to keep the soil moist.

2. Seeds: Autumn is the best season for sowing, followed by spring. The ambient temperature is recommended to be controlled at 18℃-23℃ during sowing. After high-temperature sterilization of the seeds, spread them flat on the soil surface and cover them. Note that they should be opened for ventilation for two hours every day. Generally, they will germinate in about 7 days.

3. Pest and disease control

Thousand Buddha's Hand is not liked by insects and rarely gets sick or infested with diseases. However, it is easy to melt into water if not properly maintained, and once it melts into water, it can be very fatal. Therefore, it is necessary to water it appropriately during the maintenance process to avoid it from melting into water. Once it turns into water, it should be removed in time.
