How to grow Autumn Lily

How to grow Autumn Lily

1. Maintenance methods

1. Temperature: Autumn lily likes a warm growing environment. If the temperature is five degrees in winter, it will stop growing and may also be frostbitten. If the temperature continues to drop below zero, the plant will be frozen to death directly, and the water and cells in the branches and leaves will not be able to survive normally. If it is higher than thirty-five degrees, the growth will slow down and the temperature needs to be lowered.

2. Watering: Water normally during the growth period. However, the amount and frequency of watering for succulents need to be controlled. It should not be too frequent. Wait until the soil is completely dry before watering. At the same time, in summer and winter, the plants begin to dormant and cannot be watered too much, otherwise the roots will rot.

3. Light: Except for the high temperature and strong light in summer, which requires shade, it can receive full sunlight normally in other seasons. Under sufficient light conditions, its leaves will be more shiny and bright. If there is not enough light, the color will turn green, affecting the viewing experience.

4. Fertilization: Autumn Lily does not require too much fertilizer for normal growth. The most important thing is not to apply nitrogen fertilizer. If nitrogen fertilizer is applied during the dormant period, it will easily grow too tall. During the growth period, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers can be used in combination and applied after dilution.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Reproduction: Leaf cuttings are the main method of reproduction. Pick off the full branches and leaves and place them in a cool and ventilated place. After the wound dries, insert it directly into the flowerpot. Keep the soil moist while it germinates. During this period, you should also be careful not to expose it to too much light.

2. Pruning: Its growth rate and branching ability are relatively strong, so they need to be controlled in time. Some yellowing branches and dead branches should be cut off to facilitate the sprouting of new branches, which can also effectively control the aging of the plant.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Diseases: If you water too much during the dormant period, root rot will easily occur. You can use wettable powder to control it.

2. Pests: Aphids may appear and you can spray dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane.

IV. Other issues

1. Toxicity: Non-toxic, no need to worry about accidental ingestion.

2. Can it be raised at home? Yes, it has high ornamental value.
