Cultivation methods and precautions of Christmas cactus

1. Potting soil

Whether the potting soil used during cultivation is suitable will directly affect the growth of Christmas cactus. Flower lovers are advised to use clay pots or ceramic pots. The soil must be disinfected first and have good air permeability. Garden soil, sand and leaf mold can be mixed together.

2. Temperature

The temperature of around 15-32℃ is most suitable for its growth. The temperature is easy to control when it is raised at home, as long as it is not too high or too low. Usually, it can survive the winter by keeping it indoors. In summer, make sure the temperature is kept below 33℃.

3. Nutrients

It will only grow and bloom better when there is sufficient nutrients in the soil, so during its growth period, it should be fertilized every 15-20 days. Be careful when applying fertilizer and try not to apply it on the leaves of the plant.

4. Sunlight

When caring for it, you don’t need to worry too much about the sunlight. Just place it in a place with scattered light and you don’t have to worry about it. However, it cannot be exposed to strong sunlight, especially in the summer, it must be shaded. You can increase the light exposure appropriately in autumn and winter because it will not be sunburned at this time.

5. Notes

1. When applying fertilizer, the concentration must not be too high. It is more appropriate to apply some light fertilizer, otherwise the roots will easily rot. Moreover, apply fertilizer frequently and in small amounts.

2. Do not allow water to remain in the flowerpot at any time. If there is too much water in the soil, the roots will definitely rot over time.
